Kentucky Authors Series, GCPL's Newest Event Series

This Spring- Dale Voelker

Next Wednesday, 4/27/22 at 6:30pm, GCPL will host the first of a new series that centers on Kentucky’s rich literary talent, and we cannot think of a better special guest than the author of The Kentucky Bicentennial, Dale Voelker.

Dale will discuss the making of the book, from the raucous Hillbilly Days in Pikeville to the grand Kentucky Derby, and will have a gallery of prints on display. There will also be tables of relics, artifacts, and memorabilia for viewing before and after the presentation..

Copies of The Kentucky Bicentennial will be available at the event. To learn more about Dale, please visit his beautifully-illustrated website at www.dalevoelkerphotography.com/.

This Summer- Shelia Stovall

On Saturday, June 11th at 11am, GCPL hosts Contemporary Christian Romance author, Shelia Stovall. Shelia is a small-town library director in southern Kentucky, who has taken breaks from her tranquil farm life to do missionary work throughout Africa.

Shelia’s books revolve around the people of the fictional town of Weldon, Kentucky, which with it’s love of fried pies, gossip, and match-making, may sound very familiar to readers.

Multiple copies of Shelia’s two books, Every Window Filled with Light and Every Day Filled with Hope, are available for checkout or hold right now. To learn more about Shelia, please visit her website at www.sheliastovall.com.
