Childrens Outreach/ Traveling Storyteller (FT)

 

Grant CPL- a big, beautiful county library nestled halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington, and only 15 minutes from Florence- is seeking to hire a full-time Childrens Outreach/Traveling Storyteller.

 

The ideal candidate will have a background in library and information literacy instruction, educational programming for children and parents/caregivers, and a current driver’s license.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

• Driving a library outreach vehicle to areas throughout the county for story time programs and checkout of library materials.

• Providing library and information services to patrons- primarily parents and children.

• Engaging relevant educational and community organizations in Grant County to identify resources or instruction needs for student academic success.

• Collections maintenance of library materials in the library outreach vehicle.

 

Education:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, Educational field preferred, Library field prioritized.

 

Experience: 

• Minimum one year experience in a public library preferred.

• Minimum one year experience working with children in a library setting preferred.

Salary Range: $38,100-$48,750, commensurate with education and experience.

Job Type: Full time.

Hours: 37.5 weekly, including some evenings and weekends.

Reports to: Youth Services Manager.
