Wild about Reading

Boys and Girls, do you want to be a better reader? We want you to read to our stuffed animals. You can read and keep the likes of Pooh Bear, Clifford, Elmo and many more company in the library. Go to the front desk and choose the animal you want to read to and the staff will check out the animal to you for 30 minutes. You and your stuffed companion can read in a quiet corner of the library. Just bring your friend back to the desk when you are done.

Introduction to Rug Hooking
10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 18
Bettina Somerville will provide a basic lesson onhooking technique & tips for learning at minimumexpense. Participants need to bring a 14" quiltinghoop available at most craft stores or a 10" Morganhoop available online from Hancockfabrics.com. Class will be part lecture and part practice. Material for beginning a small project will be provided. The hook will be available for purchase after the class. Pre-purchased kits are welcomed. Class is open to up to 12 teens & adults. Learn to Knit: shawl
2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 19
Learn to make an easy shawl. Choose one of the patterns below. This project will run through May. True beginners are welcome at all classes, but you must bring size 10 knitting needles & chunky weight yarn. Be aware you may not be able to work on the monthly project, but may be assigned another pattern based on your skill level. Goofy Glowing Goo
10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 25
Does your tween like to be grossed out? If so, they can make their own Goofy Glowing Gooat the library. They’ll get to participate in a mini science experiment that produces a green, glowing,glob of goo. Everyone will take home their glowing creation. Limited to ages 8 through 12 only.
