Beginning this month, library patrons will be pleased to find the New Books shelf filled with more titles and more copies of today’s most popular authors. This has been made possible through the library administration entering into a lease agreement with Baker & Taylor book distributors.
Through a study of check out patterns focusing on popular authors, GCPL librarians identified roughly 300 popular authors that will be rotated periodically through the collection thanks to the leasing program.
A further plus about the lease program is that after 6-9 months, library staff will choose which books go into the permanent collection and which get traded back to Baker & Taylor for the very newest releases.
